To the 6,000 riders and hundreds of volunteers and community partners who supported the 15th Annual Kansas City Bikers for Babies®.With your support, $693,000 was raised for the March of Dimes to help all babies get a healthy start in life.
Celebrity rocker Dee Snider, lead singer of Twisted Sister and National Bikers for Babies Spokesperson, led the 115-mile ride with local radio personality Johnny Dare. After the ride, participants enjoyed lunch, a performance by Snider and bike show.
Ed Hale of Raymore, the top fundraiser for all Bikers for Babies events in the country, collected more than $86,000 this year with the help of his Posse. Chris Smith of Lathrop, Mo., was winner of the 2010 Harley-Davidson Road King giveaway.
The Kansas City Bikers for Babies is the largest and most successful March of Dimes motorcycle ride in the nation. Bikers for Babies has raised more than $4.36 million in Kansas City in its 15-year history. Funds raised by Bikers for Babies support local research grants focused on issues related to premature birth and community programs such as NICU Family Support at Saint Luke’s Hospital and Overland Park Regional Medical Center.
The American Motorcycle Association-sanctioned ride was sponsored nationally and presented in Kansas City by Farmers Insurance and 98.9 The Rock.
